Frequently Asked Questions

What is RipYell?

RipYell is a new way for the general public and organisations to communicate.

Organisations get a way to promote their projects and citizens get a way to find out what’s happening at a particular location or on a particular project.

RipYell allocates a unique code to every project which is displayed at the site. Passers-by see the code, and when they enter it at RipYell.com or using the RipYell App, all the details about your project are displayed.

What types of projects is it useful for?

RipYell works for virtually any type of project;

  • Construction & building
  • Public Works
  • Businesses
  • Events
  • Real-estate
  • Local council
  • Developments
  • Shows & Events

Construction and building projects use the service widely to allow people driving past to learn more about what’s happening here.

Event promoters use it to engage with wider audiences and gain extra exposure for their events.

Businesses of all sorts can use it to promote their products and services and interact with potential new customers.

Real-estate agents and home-owners can use to add a new dimension to the marketing of their home.

Local Councils use it to keep the community updated about particular projects going on in the local area such as road-works, housing developments and general council activities taking place.

Shows & Events can really benefit from using the service to promote what’s happening.

In fact, there really isn’t any limit to who can use the tool.

Who can use it?

Anyone really. If you have a project which you want more exposure for or to keep the general public ‘in the loop’, be it a business, event, government or private development project, what-ever, then you should register on the RipYell Website.

How does it work?

It’s very simple.

To post your project go to ripyell.com and select “Post My Project” .

You will receive an email with your username and password. This will be for you to update information about the project as required.

You will also be sent a physical sign-board. This will be where your Unique RipYell Code will be printed. This is the signboard that you display at the site.

People who want to find our more information about what you’re up-to simply need to enter that code at RipYell.com and all the info you have entered will be on display.

Is this suitable for Local Councils?

Yes!

Every project which has received a DA (development application) from council should display a RipYell signboard. The person/persons who applied for the DA should be able to collect their RipYell signboard from their local council and display it at the development site.

I went to my local council and they don’t know how to use the service?

No problem. Local councils are coming on board all the time because they realise this is such a powerful tool for them to ensure the community has all the information it needs about what’s happening locally. Contact us here and we’ll get your local council up and running.

What happens when the project ends?

Take down the signboard. Login to your account and “Close” the project.
